CMSA; the Opening Dress has been hanging in my room for almost two years now...it was a charm i was using to make the exhibition where i would wear it materialize...damned if it didin't work! i'll be part of a two person (me and William Sandell)show...opens this january at the Manhattan Beach Art Center...they are so fancy they have FREE valet parking and good snacks!!!!!! So this dress will be worn soon....Bill, I'm sure you'll look fabulous in it!

CMSA; i start every work day by sitting in front of my paintings for 15 minutes or so...i try to empty my mind of all but the "silent cacophony" that i hear when all the paintings talk at once....i always learn something...

CMSA; sometimes i think i personify that old country and western song ; "if it weren't for bad luck, i'd have no luck at all"...but then i like to remind myself that everyone that is born has already accomplished the statistical equivalent of winning the lottery; yeah!: that the sperm that was me got to be the one out of millions that impregnated that particular egg? what were the odds? i guess i could just say; "We're ALL born lucky"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!pic of me and my girl pal from the 80's Mary Brit-Clause in Athens Ohio

CMSA; Here's a tip from artist Chuck Connelly on thick paint; paint a wet white ground first, sort of like the "liquid white" ground we glazers use; he figured it out himself, but later discovered DeKooning did the same .....

CMSA; omg, this one grabs my heart; once i dreamed i was on still water by myself , in a sailboat, at night....all around me in a grid pattern were other lone "sailors", and i made a painting about it called "I DREAMED I WAS NOT ALONE" - Chuck Connely.

CMSA; one of the primary goals I've had since moving to Los Angeles was to find a big beautiful venue for the entire series ("Alone Together") of some 24 plus paintings i've been working on for two years now...I'm excited to announce i found it at the Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center...dates are Jan 19th to March 12, 2017. It'll be a two person show with my brewery neighbor and sculptor of amazing magical machines; William Sandell Between he and i we have over 80 years of art practice...and i think we've gotten pretty wise, so save the date, and hope to see you at the opening (jan 19)!!!!!!

CMSA ; menopause menopause menopause; now that i'm an independent agent again i need not fear embarrassing my family, and that word would definitly embarrass them. but why? to me it represents the very best third (hopefully) of my life is yet to come...time to be me (proudly menopausal); to focus every minute on painting...ladies ; WORRY NOT, THE BEST IS YET TO COME
PS. now i'm gonna get alot of menopause ads to the right of my feed..and i hate what it's done to my skin,but oh welll, a small price to pay
