cmsa; ATTN HISTORIANS; two family portraits were separated 50 years ago when each of two brothers took one..Today, thanks to the generosity and downsizing of my cousin Andrea Valle, they are back together in my studio. Now that i see them together i distrust the family myth, that they were a couple ...they appear to be from different periods, painted completely differently...they are both supposed to be from late 18th century..french canadians settling in Missouri during a short period of spanish occupancy, then withstood a covered wagon ride when my branch of the family migrated west and ended up in chihuahua mexico and baja (now san diego ) for generations...Hey cousin Emily Brown, ask your relatives if they know anything about these old valle paintings or their subjects???
